Which Certifications Should Look for?
When choosing bedding, we should avoid being fooled by fancy words. We should pay attention to the source and quality of the fabric and how it is made. Here are some suggested certification standards:
Egyptian Cotton – 100% certified authentic Egyptian cotton.
Oeko-Tex Standard 100 Certification – This certification proves that a product has passed testing for harmful toxins and chemicals.
No plastic packaging
Many bedding products come in single-use plastic packaging. Look for sheets that are plastic-free or reduce packaging, which will be more environmentally friendly.
All Aoka products are free of plastic, toxins, and chemicals and come in reusable, recyclable packaging.
Extending the Life of the Bed Sheet Starts with Maintaining the Bed Sheets
Wash or not wash sheets before use? This is a personal choice, but we recommend it. Your bedding will feel softer and fresher. Our range of Egyptian cotton and linen bedding improves and becomes softer with every wash.
To keep your Aoka Egyptian cotton Bedsheets in top condition:
Wash sheets at 40° before use and then once a week, or 30° for a more environmentally friendly option.
Tumble dry on low heat or air dry in the sun to keep whites brilliant.
Use our wool dryer balls to reduce drying time and create wrinkles naturally.
Iron moisture on a high steam iron setting.
To keep your Aoka linen bedding in top condition:
Wash linens separately at 40° with mild detergent, or for a more environmentally friendly option, at 30°.
Do not use bleach or fabric softener.
Tumble dry at a lower temperature – reduce drying time and create wrinkles naturally with our wool dryer balls.
